Starting in public education in 1970, Jim Scully was also the leading sales and installation representative for a leading security firm in the north shore area of Massachusetts for five years. In education, He rose through ranks and in 1987 became the youngest serving Superintendent in the Commonwealth in Lawrence Massachusetts. Jim served as Lawrence Superintendent for ten years and at that time it was believed that he was the longest serving urban Superintendent. He concluded his career by serving as Superintendent of Schools in Haverhill, Massachusetts for eight years, retiring from public education in June of 2018.
